The olive groves that I sketched and photographed on my recent
trip to Crete are a great inspiration to produce paintings of various

Cruising the coastline of East Devon I was amazed by the deep red cliffs
formed during the Triassic period over 250 million years ago. The cliff faces
are eroding rapidly but the more remote areas are home to hundreds of cormorants
This painting is in response to that area and the ever changing landscape.

These are some images of my recently produced, self - published book.
As with my solo exhibition earlier this year I've taken the title
"Landscapes of the Mind "as the paintings are quite often more "about"
a place rather than a representation "of" a scene.
This collection of paintings and photographs are from a body of
work formed from recent visits to Greece, Spain, France and
various locations throughout the U.K.
Here are a small selection of pages from the book.

In the absence of the life drawing sessions during the summer break, myself and a few other class members have got together to paint/draw/chat about art and whatever!
This time we met at this lakeside to attempt to capture in totally different styles the tree canopies and still qualities of this unique setting.

An opportunity to exhibit my work at the 44AD gallery in Bath ,England.
As an associate member of the gallery this is a chance to present my paintings
and talk about my working methods to a group of fellow associates and resident
studio artists who are able to provide feedback. Along with fellow associate Jo
Barber we were able to display two contrasting styles of work.
Thanks to Katie O'Brien for her help as always.
I was able to display some small sketchbooks
and a selection of life drawings.

Koutouloufari in Northern Crete is a village of approximately 600 residents, it is situated at the foot of Mount Pyrgias. I drew and photographed this impressive landmark many times and here are two works based on those images.
